Beginning in Fall 2020, Purdue has transitioned to a new evaluation software, Course Evaluations & Surveys, formerly EvaluationKIT. Historical data from evaluations before August of 2020 can be accessed by emailing idp@purdue.edu and requesting specific semester, instructor, and course section(s). Additionally, the Provost has offered new guidelines and university-wide questions for course evaluations. More information about the changes are available in the Provost Newsletter.
All evaluations requests originate from departments and are filled in tandem with University Senate Guidelines. While the Office of the Provost requires evaluations for undergraduate courses with 7 or more students, any class may conduct an on-line evaluation with department approval.
Purdue’s experience with course evaluations began in the 1920’s at the urging of students. Read about this and the evolution of evaluations at Purdue in the “History of Evaluations”.
Course Evaluations and Surveys comes with an extensive Help Center that anyone with access to the evaluation software can utilize. It contains helpful articles and videos that explain how to use and get the most from the evaluation process. After logging in you can check out the Help Center by choosing the question mark in the upper right corner of your screen.
